Yantai's Culture

Yantai boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage. It was a crucial port along the ancient Maritime Silk Road, leaving behind numerous historical monuments and cultural relics. Moreover, Yantai is also one of the cradles of modern industry and has made significant contributions to China's modernization. Yantai is rich in various seafood delicacies, such as sea cucumbers and prawns. Fifty-eight products, such as Yantai cherries, have been granted national geographical indication certification trademarks. Nine products, such as Yantai wine, have become national protected geographical indication products. Yantai apples have been the top brand in the Chinese fruit industry for 14 consecutive years. Its underground mineral resources are highly abundant, with 69 kinds of minerals discovered. The reserves of rock gold, magnesite, molybdenum, and talc rank first, second, fourth, and fifth respectively in China.
